Clocking in at almost an hour long, this mix gives a lot of space for a huge amount of sounds and styles to shine through Ilya Santana’s interesting spin on the disco genre. Obviously taking influence from film music composition (going so far as to call the mix ‘Filmic Mix’) we can hear tension building, driving rhythms throughout, as well as the employment of strings and wind instruments. The synth/percussion heavy backbone still persists, giving a strange danceability to this twisting soundtrack. It’s easy to see why the Canary Island-born DJ cites Giorgio Moroder as an influence. -Dan Peeke
